5, 2008 Dear
Members: After
4 wonderful years, I have decided to step down from my position as Co-president
of the Inman Square Business Association. I have moved out of town and will not
be in Cambridge as often as I used to be. However, I still will be an active
member and will help the ISBA in as many ways as I can to grow into an even
more prosperous organization. When
I first opened my business in Inman Square 5 years ago, I was surprised that
there was not an association in the square representing the businesses in the
neighborhood. There were so many wonderful businesses and most owners did not
even know each other. It seemed that everyone was on their own and there was
not a single voice acting on behalf of the Inman business community. Now
4 years later, the ISBA with the help of many volunteers we have made many
achievements. We have created an internet presence on www.Inmansquare.com. This past December we
had our 4th annual "Shop Inman by Moonlight" event. During the
summer, we had several movie nights in the parking lot of East Cambridge
Savings Bank. We also had several events in Vellucci Plaza including a
production of "Shakespeare in the Park". We created a safety protocol card and
most importantly, we mobilized the businesses, city officials, neighborhood
association and neighbors to work with each other on many issues and events in
the square. I
am truly proud of all that we have accomplished and am proud to have a business
in Inman Square. This is truly a
special square filled with many wonderful people that love Inman Square and
want to work together for a better community. Sincerely, Mara
